ABOUT CANTON CONCRETE

Lexington Concrete and Block was started in 1951 by Harden and Barbera Ervin with a pickup, a dump truck, and a one-yard portable mixer pulled behind the pickup. The company provided ready mixed concrete, manufactured concrete blocks, and performed concrete construction. As the company grew, several mixer trucks were brought onboard as well as a stationary plant in Lexington, MS. In the early 80’s, Watt Ervin (the son of Harden and Barbera Ervin) became the general manager in charge of the day-to-day operations of the business. This led to his ownership in the company.

The company served Holmes County and the surrounding areas until the expansion with a new plant located in Canton, MS in 2001, aptly named Canton Concrete. Soon after, Watt’s daughter Bridgette Strickland joined the company and later became part owner. Steady growth in the Jackson Metro area eventually led to the need to open a third plant in the area. In 2013, Rankin County Concrete opened in Pearl, MS.

In 2019, the company changed ownership, and Jason McNeel became the new President. He brings the same family owned mentality with his leadership. For almost 70 years, the business now commonly referred to as Canton Concrete has delivered world class service and products to all our customers. Canton Concrete’s exceptional leadership and workforce will continue to drive towards providing the absolute best ready mixed concrete experience.
